Individual Therapy
The success of individual therapy is based on the connection between the therapist and client. We hope to be able to make that connection, work with you on your goals and treatment plan. Our therapists all use integrative therapy practices or a variety of practice modalities specific to your circumstances and goals. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Client Centered Therapy, Gestalt and Existential Therapy.
Couple/Relationship Therapy
As with individual therapy, there are many options for treatment modalities and are specific to your circumstances. The goals are to increase your emotional connection, teach techniques to reduce conflict, increase communication, explore the root of the problem and enhance intimacy. At the basis of all of this are the components of an equality based relationship: trust, respect and honesty.
Substance Abuse Evaluations
Evaluations are completed using a combination of a psychosocial clinical interview, comprehensive review of chemical use history and standardized testing. This evaluation can be used for the restoration of your driving privileges and for an ongoing criminal or civil legal issues.
Macomb Batterers’ Intervention Program
Bond Reviews/Assessments/Intakes
Psychosocial assessments evaluating the history of the defendant, the defendant’s relationship history, arrest and police contact history, and other factors that may suggest any ongoing relationship lethality. A comprehensive report is provided to the Court or requesting attorney. This service can be provided in the offices of Venture Counseling, the Court and the Jail.

Abuse Intervention for Men
A 26-Week Domestic Violence Intervention Program based off the Duluth Model – Domestic Abuse Intervention Program, an internationally recognized program focusing on creating safety and equality in relationships through psycho-social education and cognitive behavioral therapy. Dialogue among group members is necessity in the overall functioning of the group and program. The program focuses on the Power and Control Wheel and utilizes control logs and equality logs as learning tools.
Fee Schedule:
$40 per group
Women’s Program
A 26-Week Domestic Violence Intervention Program that is similar in nature to the Men’s program but focused on women’s use of violence in their relationships. It utilizes different tools in identifying safety factors and risks in violent relationships but the program core is based in a psycho-educational model and a cognitive behavioral model of intervention.
Fee Schedule:
$40 per session
The Macomb Batterer’s Intervention Program is offered to both men and women (separately). The program accepts court ordered offenders, DHHS clients, and those attending voluntarily to affect changes in their relationship.
